Melva Johnson Reverend Eric E. Cason is a native of Logansport, Louisiana. He was educated in the Desoto Parish school system, attending Logansport Rosenwald Elementary and graduating from Logansport High School in 1978. He attended Grambling State University, Grambling, Louisiana and studied biological sciences. Reverend Cason received a Bachelor of Theology degree in 1988 from the Gospel Ministry Theology Institute of Houston, Texas. Since entering the gospel ministry in 1985, Reverend Cason has been busy doing the work of the Master. He served as Assistant Pastor of True Gospel Baptist Church in Houston, Texas from 1986 - 1988. He also served in the position of Director of Christian Education at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Port Chester, New York prior to relocating to Ohio in 1991. Reverend Cason continued his ministerial work in Hamilton, Ohio at the Pilgrim Baptist Church until he was called to serve as Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Walnut Hills in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has served as shepherd of First Baptist since July 1996. Pastor Cason is active in various community-based organizations. He served on the steering committee for the Taste of Gospel Ministries in Hamilton, Ohio. He has also been instrumental in administrating the Friends of Lincoln Crawford Nursing Home Project in Cincinnati. In addition, he headed the Diversity Management Task Team for Champion International, Hamilton, Ohio. Pastor Cason is married to Rosie Washington Cason, who is an accounting manager . Mrs. Cason is also a certified organizational development trainer and college recruiter. Mrs. Cason loves the Lord and is dedicated to the church. Pastor and Mrs. Cason are the proud parents of three children, Erica, Stephen and Joshua. The Lord God Almighty has led Pastor Cason and the First Baptist Church, Walnut Hills to greater spiritual heights and biblical knowledge. Pastor Cason proudly proclaims that, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord."
